Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Sandy Saychaleune grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1989. Dr. Saychaleune completed her degree in Doctor of Optometry at State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan, New York in 1993. After graduating from Optometry school, Dr. Saychaleune began her career working at various Optical Chain Stores in the fast paced working environment that allowed only limited time spent with each patient.

Dr. Saychaleune realized the importance of comprehensive and continuing care for her patients. She started Towne Vision Center in 2001, a private practice which allowed her to treat and manage her patients in a professional and personal manner. Dr. Saychaleune enjoys seeing patients from infants to elders.

Dr. Saychaleune places special emphasis on children’s vision and their visual development during their early years. She realizes the fundamental correlations between vision and learning. Our children are exposed to the newest gadgets and electronic devices at a very young age. Continuous and prolonged use of electronic devices such as: smart phones, tablets, e-readers, mp3 players, gaming devices, laptops and many other devices, can lead to eye strain and eye fatigue. An annual eye exam is critical in detecting any early signs of vision or eye health problems. Effective January 1, 2008, all children in Illinois entering Kindergarten are required to have an eye exam by an eye doctor.

Dr. Saychaleune enjoys travelling, sewing, yoga and pilates.

Dr. Saychaleune is licensed in New York, Tennessee and Illinois.
